Shout IT Out

I used to think it would be the most mortifying experience in the world to tell somebody how you feel about them, how much you care about them, dare I say love them, without them being able to reciprocate the depth of the message back to me...

Until, I made a conscious decision to live wholeheartedly in my life’s truth, always; to stand in my values, to trust my intuition, to set boundaries that protect who I am and who I want to become, and to brave opening my heart-again, and again in this wild world. This choice, years ago, was such a momentous shift in my life, that I see it’s impact in how I think, act, live, and love years later and into today.

When I crossed Topher Kearby’s quote,

we should tell people in our lives that we love them more often. we should walk right up to them, wrap our arms around them, and say, ' I love you and you matter to me.' ,

it stopped me mid-scroll. I read it. I read it again. I shared it on my social media. And now I write more.

Why? Because it’s exactly the promise that I made to myself years ago on how I would choose to share my heart, my love. To stand in the space of my-truth; truth, which I've learned leaves no space for shame or second-guessing only the realness and rawness that is love.

Love which only makes room for love, and more love.

Years after my awakening of sorts, I took a leap of faith to share my heart again. And truth be told, I was the example I shared above; the girl who decided to go for it and share her heart with a guy who didn’t feel the same. And in that moment, when the message didn't come back as perhaps I’d hoped, instead of feeling shame, I felt alive. I felt brave. Instead of feeling empty, I felt full. Full of love. That which I got to share with another; love, that they got to receive. How special is that?

We get to share love. Whether romantic or friendship or new acquaintances, we get to share love with people that touch our lives. We get to share our love to fuel another with more love.

I think that's so special. It's pure goodness. An open heart always wins.

It’s why I started to say, I love youI care about you, you mean so much to me to the people in my life more often and more openly now. And I'm not just talking about family and friends, but acquaintances too; people that positively impact me.

Love is infinite in this world and our lives are finite. Like magic, we are gifted the ability to produce love in excess. No matter how much we give; it gives more.

That’s what I think is marvelous about love. While priceless, its the most valuable gift we can give and the most wondrous gift we receive in this lifetime.

So I say, Shout IT Out.

Let's make sure, as Topher Kearby shared,

we should tell people in our lives that we love them more often. we should walk right up to them, wrap our arms around them, and say, ' I love you and you matter to me.'

I'll start.

Thank you for being here on my blog, and therefore a part of my life. Your presence means so much to me.
