Stay in the game

"STAY IN THE GAME."

That's what Chris Clark (@iamchrisclark, co-founder TigerFit, Fitness Expert, Trainer Extraordinaire) shouted out to the woman on the machine next to me today when he noticed the interval taking its toll, (certainly not just on her, undoubtedly on all of us).

His next words, "It's time to work."

Hello dopamine...(love love love)

I immediately whispered to myself, Yes it is. Stay in the game.

I could listen to sports/life metaphors and analogies each and every day of my life.

Stay in the game, a reference that reminds me so much of The Man in the Arena speech, happens to be my all-time favorite sports-life metaphor, analogy, mantra, all of it.

All I could think when Chris said it was,
Yes, stay in it. The grit, the grind, the breathlessness, the burn. The work. Yours and mine. Stay in it.
Stay on the floor. Do • The • Work.

Anybody who's done the work or is doing the work knows the life lesson and fact that: the work is our reward.

So, maybe you're huffing and puffing physically or navigating an emotionally demanding season in your life, I say, Chris says, life asks us to:

Stay in the game.
Do the work.
Your work, your reward.
My work. My reward.

Go get it.
